Rice Village Restaurant Renovation
Our Rice Village location has reopened with a new name, remodeled restaurant and updated menus!
Renovation improvements include a new interior layout and widened covered patio. The all-white interior makes the dining room brighter while also maintaining its warm ambiance through new furnishings and fixtures. This is the first of nine locations to rebrand and the others will gradually follow.
There are updated breakfast, lunch, dinner, weekend brunch and weekday happy hour menus from Chef Austin Simmons with exclusive dishes and desserts not found at the other Houston-area Black Walnut locations. As the executive chef for Woodlands Hospitality Group, Simmons oversees its concepts including Black Walnut, TRIS and The Kitchen.
From the dinner menu, guests can expect comforting entrées like Lobster Truffle Pasta, Beef & Lamb Bolognese and Gumbo “Ya Ya.” Weekday happy hour includes $8 signature drinks; and wings, tacos and burgers starting at $6. For dessert, there are spindle-spun shakes made with house-made vanilla bean ice cream, plus a few options that can be spiked.
Black Walnut Kitchen & Bar is located at 5510 Morningside Dr., Suite #150 in Houston. Breakfast is served from 7-10:30 a.m., followed by lunch and dinner until 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Weekday happy hour is from 3-6:30 p.m. and weekend brunch is from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
